What is Obsolete?
Which skills are obsolete? Is a skill that used to be practiced as a profession, but is now only practiced by hobbyists or artists, obsolete? If its use has declined among the general population, but it is still practiced by a select few, is it obsolete? Is it easier to think about if you substitute the word "rare" for the word "obsolete"?
The dictionary defines obsolete as: a state of being which occurs when a person, object, or service is no longer wanted, even though it may still be in good working order. This definition also recognizes the value of something that is obsolete.
